The year 1989 saw the creation of Aakar Paints. The business initially operated under very little publicity, manufacturing Nitrocellulose, Synthetic Enamel Paints, N C Putty, and Thinner for local markets under the "SUNSILK" brand and aesthetic. Products quickly gained a strong position in the local market as well as in other areas and began to spread. In 1998–1999, the company introduced a new line of products, including polyurethane and epoxy paints, thanks to constantly improving quality control and setup. The company has been getting positive feedback from all corners of the nation.
